Crack up with Maori Television on Waitangi Day 2013
Some of New Zealand’s best comic performers will take the stage in a special Waitangi Day comedy show screening on Maori Television on February 6 at 8.30pm.
Hosted by leading Kiwi comedian Mike King, CRACK UP is a light-hearted, family friendly look at New Zealand society and a bit of a laugh in commemoration of our national day.
Ten stand-up comics from a diverse range of backgrounds feature in the one-hour show: They are: Andre King, Irene Pink, Pax, James Nokise, Mike Loder, Andrew Clay, Jan Maree, Jarred Fell, Alan McElroy and Jamaine Ross.
Producer Mandy Toogood, who previously produced Pulp Comedy, says: “CRACK UP is a celebration of New Zealand and who we are as a culture. It’s about accents and heritage and our unique place in the world.”
She says CRACK UP is a “clean show” without course language so it’s suitable for the whole family to enjoy.
Maori Television will also present a live breakfast show WAITANGI ATA MARIE from 8.00am to 10.00am on Waitangi Day.
Hosts Te Arahi Maipi and Stephanie Huriana Martin will be talking to musicians, authors and social commentators plus there will be live crosses to Waitangi to see what is happening there. Batucada Sound Machine, Aaradhna and country and music singer Tami Neilson will be on hand with live performances.
Join us at Maori Television on Waitangi Day for WAITANGI ATA MARIE from 8.00am to 10.00am and CRACK UP at 8.30pm.
