Haier Pulse Players to Coach Hawke’s Bay Top Youngsters

With the netball season looming on the horizon, many teams have begun their pre-season training or are involved in summer competitions. What better way for young netball stars to brush up on their skills than to have players from the Haier Pulse netball team provide them with a few top tips?

Shooters Caitlin Thwaites and Paula Griffin, along with mid-court players Daya Wiffen and Claire Kersten, will be visiting the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park on Saturday February 16 to help coach more than 80 development and representative players from the Hawke’s Bay region. The Haier Pulse stars will take time out from preparing for the 2013 ANZ Championship to assist with the drills and skills sessions and will also answer questions about what it takes to be a player in an elite team.

There will be a free coaching session with the stars between 10.30am and 11.30am for all primary school children aged between 5 and 12.

Netball fans and the general public are also invited to come along between 11.30am and 12.30pm and try their hand at shooting some hoops with the Haier Pulse girls and they can bring along something for the players to autograph.

Netball Central and Haier Pulse Chief Executive Officer, Chris Hooper, is delighted that the team are able to help young players in the region develop their skills. “The Haier Pulse is a regional team and we are committed to the Zone’s communities, especially in the development of future netball stars.”

More information about the Haier Pulse is available on www.pulse.org.nz, facebook.com/Haier.Pulse or twitter @HaierPulse.
