Nick Raven ‘Love&Lomography’ release party

Nick Raven is celebrating the release of his debut album ‘Love&Lomography’ at a free party at the Wine Cellar on Saturday March 2

The debut album ‘Love&Lomography’ by fast-rising young troubadour Nick Raven will be released at a free party at Auckland’s Wine Cellar on Saturday March 2nd. The album evokes a sun-soaked, psychedelic fantasia, and what better way to get a feel for it than to experience Nick’s shimmeringly guitar-driven, honest songs live.

The songs Blindman and Butterfly High (But I Fly So High) may already be familiar to fans around the country – they’ve aired regularly on 95bFM, Radio Control, Plains FM, Fresh FM and Tractor FM amongst others - and Butterfly High soared to #2 on the 95bFM Top Ten. And the album contains a host of other gems set to steal the hearts of music lovers.

Raven will be joined in the Cellar by labelmate/songsmith Come Down Kid, and Alec, the new incarnation of Tied On Teeth frontman Hugh Piesse.

As well as being able to pick up the 'Love&Lomography' album, copies of brand new NZ/USA magazine/sampler 'Drill/I Have No Idea' will be available on the night, also featuring Nick Raven.

In his previous incarnation, Come Down Kid, aka Simon Mallett, was one of the driving forces behind the indie pop band Bored Gordon, who had several alternative radio hits including ‘Seaside Suicide’ and ‘Peter Pan’. Come Down Kid excels at beautifully crafted and moving songs which (speaking from experience) very quickly get set on ‘repeat’ in your head.

Hailing from Ngatea, Alec aka Hugh Piesse is the former frontman of Tied On Teeth. Alec has defined his own genres – ‘Turuacore’ and ‘Sombrecore’ – and puts on a great live show with his own loops and beats. He released this album last year http://alecp.bandcamp.com/ , and is also in the band Caroles.
