Find True Love At the SPCA This Valentine's Weekend

Find True Love At the SPCA This Valentine's Weekend

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”
Anatole France

They say true love is hard to find. The SPCA would love to prove them wrong this Valentine’s weekend, 16-17 February, and introduce you to some very special souls. With hundreds of animals in the care of SPCA Centres across the country, true love is only a visit to the SPCA away.

This Valentine’s weekend will be business as usual for the hardworking team at your local SPCA, who love nothing more than helping their animals find their perfect match. From dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, to rabbits, guinea pigs and maybe even a goat or two, our lonely animals would love a chance to show you that true love really does exist.

“Some of our Centres have animals who have been in our care for a very long time,” says Robyn Kippenberger, Royal New Zealand SPCA National Chief Executive. “It’s always wonderful when any animal is adopted, but it’s very special when someone falls in love with one of our long-term residents and takes them home.”

Once you’ve fallen in love at your SPCA it can be hard to walk away, but you can prepare for this most life-changing of moments by reading up on how to care for your potential new family member beforehand. Your local SPCA will have plenty of information on the type of animal most suited to your needs, and will be able to recommend a special match just for you.

Let Cupid work his magic on you this Valentine’s weekend. Open your heart and your home to one of our lonely souls, and be rewarded with a lifetime of love and companionship.
