Cycle Vietnam with Sarah Walker for Variety This August

Cycle Vietnam with Sarah Walker for Variety This August

Adventurous travelers can support Variety – The Children’s Charity by signing up for a unique cycling experience to Vietnam from 17 - 31 August with Olympian and BMX rider Sarah Walker.

Sarah will lead week one of the 15 day trip, which is a partnership between Variety and leading travel company World Expeditions. The trip includes 8 days of moderate level cycling, covering over 350km of Vietnamese landscape.

Activities include exploring Hanoi’s vibrant city and the beautiful temples of the Tran Dynasty; meeting local hill tribes; visiting an orphanage and school; and cruising on a traditional ‘Junk’ sail boat.

Sarah, who won silver in BMX at the London 2012 Olympics, is certainly no stranger to a bike. She says she is really excited to be cycling Vietnam with Variety.

“I am definitely looking forward to exploring Hanoi, and visiting a local school and orphanage. I also like the fact that money raised from the trip will go towards giving disadvantaged Kiwi kids their very own bike.”

The ticket price of $4990 per person includes return airfares with Singapore Airlines, twin-share accommodation, comfortable bikes, support crew and back-up vehicle, private transport when not cycling, expert bilingual guide, most meals and a $500 donation to Variety’s Bikes for Kids Programme.

“We are thrilled to have Sarah on board for the Vietnam trip” said Lorraine Taylor, CEO of Variety – The Children’s Charity. “Being a BMX biker, she is the perfect person for this challenge - not only because the trip involves cycling, but also because funds raised will go towards getting bikes into the hands of disadvantaged Kiwi Kids - a cause close to Sarah’s heart ”

“We encourage New Zealand’s next generation of charity-minded adventurers to challenge themselves and participate in a trip that will make a difference in the lives of Kiwi Kids.” says Lorraine.

“If you ever wanted to explore Vietnam, now is your chance!” Sarah added.
