Phoenix Players Sign Their Support For The Haier Pulse

Commuters at Wellington Railway Station must have thought they were seeing double when they arrived off their morning train this week to be greeted by two of the capital’s elite sporting teams.

Phoenix footballers Alexander Smith, Ian Hogg, Michael Boxall and Isaka Cernak joined Haier Pulse netballers Katrina Grant, Caitlin Thwaites, Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit and their coach Robyn Broughton to write a personal message of support on the girls’ yellow Suzuki Swift, which was parked outside the station.

As well as hundreds of members of the public, Wellington Deputy Mayor Ian McKinnon also penned a special message wishing the team good luck for the 2013 ANZ Netball Championship season, which starts on 24 March.

Brendan Foot Supersite and Suzuki are the team’s official vehicle suppliers, helping to get the Haier Pulse out and about in five brand new Suzukis, one of which is the bright yellow Suzuki Swift. The car will be parked in various key locations around the capital for the rest of the week and the girls are asking the Wellington public to show their support and sign the bodywork with their personal messages of support.

There will also be an opportunity for the public to meet the 2013 squad at the home of the Haier Pulse, Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua, this Friday 8 March between 4pm-5pm.

More information about the Haier Pulse is available on http://www.pulse.org.nz/ facebook.com/Haier.Pulse or twitter @HaierPulse
