Pasifika Festival turns 21 tomorrow

Kia ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, ni sa bula vinaka, kia orana, fakaalofa lahi atu, kam na mauri, taloha ni, ia orana, talofa, hello.
Perfect weather is forecast for this weekend, and with more than 1,500 performers, 150 food dishes and 220 stalls, Pasifika Festival is set to be one of the biggest yet.

Saturday 9 March:
• 10am to 5pm – Western Springs is home to Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tokelau, Niue, Tahiti, Kirbati, Tuvalu and Aotearoa. Each village will offer food, art, dance and music.

Sunday 10 March:
• 9am to 10am – Enjoy a special combined church service celebrating Pacific culture and faith
• 10am to 4pm – Experience the culture of villages positioned around Western Springs Park.

If you need to bring your car, parking is available at Unitec Mt Albert Campus (entry at Gate 4). A free shuttle will leave for Western Springs Park every 30 minutes from outside Gladstone Primary on Carrington Road.

Proceeds from fundraising at the 2013 Pasifika Festival will be donated to Make a Wish New Zealand which supports children with life threatening illnesses.

Pasifika Festival is entirely smoke free.
