Hot Actress on the Rise Sets to Break Down Stereotypical Roles

Management Agency, B&M Creative Artists is pleased to announce the recent successes of local actress, JJ Fong in her double win of two major roles.

JJ Fong is one to watch with her star on the rise. Having secured a core cast role as one of the leads in South Pacific Pictures’ Go Girls, in addition to having recently completed filming her own co-written webseries, Flat3. The fifth series of Go Girls is set to air later 2013 with Fong playing the nerd princess, Alice Lee.

Flat3 is directed by Roseanne Liang, whose film successes include ‘My Wedding and other Secrets’ and ‘Banana in a Nutshell’. Flat3 is a Kiwi comedy following three Kiwi-Asian friends living together, as they experience developing their own identities with a lot humour along the way.

With a string of familiar NZ actors involved, the series gives a fresh spin on being a 20-something woman living in Auckland.

Fong, who plays Jessica, one of the three leads says, "Making Flat3 has been such a rewarding experience. We wanted to create something that broke the typical stereotyped Asian female role for screen. We want people to see that we can play roles that define us as ourselves and not because of our ethnicity. I hope it changes the outlook for the industry in some way and for future Asian female actors to come".

A New Zealand born Chinese performer with talent diversifying across many platforms; singing, MC/hosting events & television, acting and dancing, JJ offers a modern and fresh perspective to performance with an edge and sense of style that crosses in the music, screen and fashion industries. Having completed a diploma in commercial dance and musical theatre coupled with years of theatre acting and presenter training experience, JJ is equipped for her career to take flight.

Watch Flat3 ad-free on Youtube and Vimeo or head to their website where you can click through to watch the episodes [www.flat3webseries.com]. The girls can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
