FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

e-book Evolution. Is 'Death in Amici' the Future?

17th March 2013, Auckland, New Zealand - From the series 'The Secret Society' comes the influence book 'Death in Amici' by D Knox (Amazon $3.99) - As sales for e-books grow (177% source Ken Auletta - New Yorker) and web e-book sales are now eclipsing paperback and hard cover sales combined, Influence books could be the next and most important stage in e-book evolution. Only time will tell.

What is an influence book? – According to author D Knox, " Everyone who writes talks about their influences coming from their lives. But imagine a book where there is one writer and the influence not only comes from the writer but thousands of other people as well. How rich and in-depth could the end result be as a collectively written book."

A spokesperson for SDK Pennington Publishing said, "The concept is quite amazing. Not only is 'Death in Amici' a thrilling read with nail-biting twists and turns but it has the potential to evolve with each book in "The Secret Society' series."

How does it work? - Read the first book in the series, 'Death in Amici'. Next go to the blog site www.dknoxbooks.com and read a short synopsis for the second book, followed by a list of the main characters who will continue from the first book. Now here is where it becomes interesting. You, the reader, have the ability to influence the outcome of the second and subsequent books in the series. Voting will be on which character, and only one character, you want to live or die. Suggest a plot idea or preference you'd like to see happen in the book. And remember this is based on a majority win so convince others to support you and vote the same way. As D Knox says, "Influence others by forming Secret Society book clubs or just talk. Talk may be cheap but it's also incredibly powerful and that power is in your hands."

At the end of a specified period, D Knox will then write the next volume, based on reader voting and, after publication, the process will continue. Each reader therefore will have a personal commitment to, and interest in, the evolution of the series which, by the end, may be very different from that originally envisaged.

'The Secret Society' series
Think of governments doing wrong and we think of clandestine figures lurking in the shadows: Big Brother watching, listening. But what if Big Brother is only on the fringe of the shadows and the ones we should be looking for are hidden so deeply that they walk past you every day in plain sight. They control Big brother, big business - everything! They have no borders and wave no flags of allegiance to any country. To them governments are pawns and people the puppets to be played with as the centuries old Brethren see fit.

If you've asked the question, "Is it possible" then you may well be the unknowing, dangling puppet, struggling as you feel the bite of the man-made credit crunch and watch the evening news as yet another person goes missing. All the time hoping for a feeling of brighter sun upon your face to lift the shadows away.

In 'Death in Amici' a small ragged group of individuals led by Robbie, an unwilling leader, become one to exact their revenge, and their lives change for ever. Born in the Brethren's family embrace, they break free to stop the despair the Brothers and Watchers impose on the world.

From the first explosive pages 'Death in Amici' never lets the reader sit too comfortably as D Knox takes snapshots from every day events and weaves them subtly into the plot. The mesh of intrigue and subterfuge means the reader never quite knows which way to turn, or who to trust - should you go down that dark alley? Then again you only live once...

Bio

Well travelled, British born D Knox presently residing in New Zealand enjoys mixing the different cultures and experiences from around the world to add flavour and flair to 'The Secret Society' Influence Book series. 'Death in Amici', the first in the series begins the influence process and as Knox says " Globally, maybe an insight for each person’s society they live within."

D Knox is a private person wishing even their gender to be kept confidential. This makes promoting ‘The Secret Society: Death in Amici’ a difficult job for SDK Publishing. The spotlight is something D Knox would prefer to be kept away from. It has brought some intrigue with such secrecy, if uncertainty as to how D Knox will eventually be received by the media.

SDK Publishing believes one thing is certain. This book will play out globally and the influence from each society around the world could be very telling as to how people in that society interacts with each other and possibly other societies. It could turn out to be a human experiment of sorts. Watch this space.
