Variety Distributes Over $62,000 Of Scholarships to Help Kiwi Kids Achieve Their Dreams
Variety – The Children’s Charity is proud to help 16 talented Kiwi kids reach their full potential with a 2013 Variety Gold Heart Scholarship. This year we welcome seven new Gold Heart Scholars who excel in a range of areas; including BMX riding, basketball, rhythmic dance and Paralympic swimming!

Gold Heart Scholarships form part of Variety’s Future Kiwi Kids programme which supports young people who excel in the arts, sports or education. This scholarship provides financial support of up to $5,000 and matches scholars with a mentor to help them achieve their goals. Last year, thirteen – year –old Natasha Boon, a promising young dancer, was mentored by acclaimed dancer Nerida Cortese.

“Being a Gold Heart Scholar enabled me to help turn my dreams and goals for the future into a reality,” said Natasha. Always remember - never give up on your dreams.”

This year Variety is distributing over $62,000 in Gold Heart Scholarships to 16 talented Kiwi kids across the country.
