Cody Simpson Announced As Believe Tour Special Guest In Aus & NZ!

Following on from the incredible news that Justin Bieber will bring his Believe tour to Australia and New Zealand this summer, The Frontier Touring Company is delighted to announce that Australia’s own pop sensation Cody Simpson will join Bieber as a very special guest.

Hailing from Queensland’s Gold Coast, Cody Simpson first captured the world’s attention in 2009 when he began posting videos on Youtube of himself playing guitar performing original songs alongside stellar covers of artists such as Justin Timberlake, Jack Johnson, and Jason Mraz. Cody quickly became a YouTube phenomenon clocking up millions of views and garnering a global fan base.

After signing with Atlantic Records, Cody released his first single “IYIYI” (also featuring Flo Rida) from his debut EP, 4 U, which also went on to spawn the #1 Radio Disney hit ‘All Day’ and along with a series of dynamic live performances begun to rapidly win over U.S. fans. Cody quickly followed this with what would become his breakthrough U.S. hit, the Coast To Coast EP, which entered Billboard’s album chart at No. 12 and earned Cody his second Radio Disney # 1 with the single “On My Mind.” The music video for ‘On My Mind’ was directed by Travis Kopach (Panic! At The Disco, 3OH!3, Boys Like Girls) and has become a certified YouTube blockbuster with over 18 million views.

In Australia he is just as loved; featuring among the top stars at Australian Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids Choice Awards where he won “Awesome Aussie,” “Aussie Muso,” and the prestigious “Super Fresh.”

In October 2012 Cody released his full length debut, Paradise, a collection of sundrenched tracks mostly co-written by Cody himself. For the making of the album Cody was joined in the studio by a veritable who's-who of modern pop hitmakers, including Dr. Luke & Cirkut (Katy Perry, Flo Rida, Ke$ha), Adam Messinger & Nasri (Justin Bieber), John Ryan (One Direction, Jennifer Lopez), Colby O'Donis (Lady Gaga) and The Futuristics (Chris Brown).

Paradise was recorded throughout the first half of 2012 all part of a non-stop schedule that included school, recording, touring, and countless TV and promotional appearances. Despite the constant activity, Cody determinedly took his time making the album, accumulating more and more life experience with each day. "Your first album, it's a big moment," says Cody Simpson. "It's a milestone in your career. It's giving a lot of yourself to the world." The album became a smash hit, debuting on the Australian albums chart at #2 and firmly cementing Cody’s place as one of the music industry’s brightest stars both in Australia and in his new home in the U.S.

“Simpson is everything that a 21st century star should be. He's not afraid to push the envelope, and he does it with undeniable cool... Meet the world’s next massive superstar...” – Artist Direct

On stage Cody is a natural, charismatic and hardworking performer, touring nearly non-stop over the last few years including his sold-out “Welcome to Paradise” headline tour, the Coast To Coast Tour of U.S. malls (which drew on average 3,000 fans turning out at each of its 10 stops) and recently the Paradise Tour, which visited 36 cities in North America.

In 2012, Cody launched his first-ever European headlining tour and hit the road as support for Justin Bieber’s U.S. and European Believe Tour, playing to crowds of 20,000. “It was a great experience for me. I was really motivated to make my show even better by watching what Justin and his team were doing on the Believe Tour,” Cody says. “I had to prove myself on his tour. My goal was to go out there every night, get people up on their feet, and turn everyone in that arena into a fan of mine.”

With over 5 million Twitter followers, 5 million Facebook likes and 150 million Youtube views on his official channel the meteoric rise of Cody Simpson is set to continue. His new single ‘Pretty Brown Eyes’ is the fastest selling single of his career and has amassed 5.5 million views in only a few weeks time. His highly anticipated second album ‘Surfers Paradise’ named after the famous area in his hometown of Gold Coast is set to release on July 16th. The young star is also set to release his first official autobiography ‘Welcome To Paradise: My Journey’ through Harper Collins on October 22nd. What is already one of the most spectacular musical event’s of the year just achieved the impossible and became even bigger.
