School Holiday Fun At Stardome

School Holiday Fun At Stardome

T Minus 10, 9, 8, 7…Lift off!

What does it take to become an Astronaut?  Nerves of steel?  Peak physical fitness?  Supreme bravery?  Stardome Observatory & Planetarium are giving your kids the opportunity to find out exactly what it takes these school holidays.  The perfect holiday fun for those kids who intend to become pioneers of space exploration when they grow up!

The journey starts with the Planetarium movie ‘Astronaut' which is projected onto the Stardome Planetarium’s domed ceiling.  When the countdown begins the motion of take off is felt from wherever you’re sitting in the 87 seat theatre.

Astronaut is an immersive planetarium show which takes kids from Earth into space... and beyond! Experience a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut.   Explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from floating around the International Space Station to manoeuvring through microscopic regions of the human body.   Discover the perils that lurk in space as the film’s test astronaut ‘Chad,’ is subjected to everything that space has to throw at him.

The movie is followed by face painting and a hands on session making Astronaut gear to take home.  Stardome school holiday sessions at 10am and 1pm every weekday from the 15th to the 26th July - perfect for a winters day out with the kids.
