Gay Wedding at Fashion Week to Be Attended by 1000 – Wedding Planner Selected

Melissa Haberfield has been selected as the wedding planner for the Come on Oz, Say I Do same-sex wedding at New Zealand Fashion Week 2013.

Under Melissa’s experienced eye two brides will be treated to a wedding like no other as they take their vows in front of an audience of over 1000 on the catwalk of Annah Stretton’s fashion show on September 7th, 2013.

Melissa has strong senior management experience within international tourism businesses, luxury hotels and on-board cruise ships and in recent years has focussed her entrepreneurial energies on developing innovative new businesses.
Her passion for the project not only lies in her love for organising unforgettable events but also her strong ties to the gay community.

“My brother is in a long term committed gay relationship,” says Melissa. “He has two beautiful boys born into a family of two gay girls. They all wish to have the right to marry their respective partners in their chosen country of residence as we all do. I have many gay friends in New Zealand and Australia and if through my love of creating gorgeous, memorable events I can help make this wedding a huge success and ultimately change the law in Australia I will be over the moon!”
