Fat Freddy’s Drop Announce Third and Final Auckland Show As Blackbird Earns Fourth Week At Number One
Fresh from the European summer festival circuit, Fat Freddy's Drop is gearing up to share new album Blackbird with fans at home, and are pleased to announce a third Auckland show to meet demand.
The band's third studio album Blackbird has soared into the hearts of fans and critics at home and overseas, garnering great reviews and top chart positions.
Having the Number One Album in New Zealand for their fourth consecutive week coincided with the band arriving home from the EuropeanBlackbird release to the news that their second Auckland show has sold out.
A third and final show has now been added to the Auckland run for Sunday September 15 and Freddys fans are advised to get tickets fast.
Blackbird, showcasing Freddys unholy mix of disco, rootsy dub, blues, soul and electronic funk, has also scored the band's highest UK chart position to date going straight to #1 on the Independent Breakers Chart week of release.
As well as flying high on numerous iTunes and Amazon charts, Freddys find themselves at #3 in the US AIMS chart helped by huge support from respected Los Angeles tastemaker station KCRW, where the album is currently holding down the #1 spot on the stations Top 50 for this week.
