Acclaimed Game Industry Documentary to have its home premiere at NZ International Film Festival

US and the Game Industry, NZ Filmmaker Stephanie Beth’s acclaimed feature film documentary on the world of computer games has won selection into this year’s NZ International Film Festival (NZIFF) following its recent successful screening at the USA Dances with Films Independent Film Festival.

The film explores in depth the art, emotion and music involved in interactive game design, undertaken by creative contributors to the 21st century’s most popular art form: the video game.

Billed as a must-see, the documentary provides a rare glimpse into a fascinating creative world of games design, and a love letter to the 21st century’s only truly new art form.

Henry Feltham, who reviewed the film for NZIFF says, “Stephanie Beth presents a soulful picture of the international game industry, as seen by several of its renowned independent creators, while following the production of the record-breaking ‘indie game’ Journey”.

“Making a case for the centrality of games to modern life, Us and the Game Industry confirms everything so-called ‘art gamers’ already knew, and brings the rest of us up to speed.
