JACKIE THOMAS, the Greymouth native who topped the voting polls for 7 massive weeks and ultimately took out the competition on THE X FACTOR NEW ZEALAND has today released her debut self-titled album.

Proving why she won the competition, Jackie’s winning debut single “IT’S WORTH IT” placed at #1 on the New Zealand Top 40 singles chart instantly upon release and held there for two consecutive weeks. ‘It’s Worth It’ has now reached PLATINUM status and holds the title for the largest opening week sales for a single in 2013.

In an international first, the popularity of The X Factor NZ final three also saw their singles take out the top three places in the NZ Top 40 charts last week. Jackie Thomas’ single ‘It’s Worth It’, now certified platinum sat at #1 while Benny Tipene’s ‘Walking on Water’ at #2 and Whenua Patuwai’s ‘Something Special’ sat at #3.

This the first time The X Factor format has produced the top three singles in any territory in the world, to the knowledge of international format holders Fremantle Media.

Last night, Jackie celebrated the release of her highly anticipated debut album by performing at her exclusive VIP album launch event at the stunning downtown Auckland venue, The Roxy Bar to a packed crowd of over 250 people – a mix of media, X Factor crew members, friends and family.
