Xbox New Zealand Announces Sponsorship of 2013 Vodafone NZ Music Awards

Xbox One to Launch at Midnight on Awards Night

It’s the biggest night in Kiwi music and now it’s going to be even bigger with the official New Zealand launch of the highly-anticipated gaming and entertainment console – the Xbox One.

It’s all go on November 21 – first the Vodafone NZ Music Awards and, at the stroke of midnight, the launch New Zealand gamers have been waiting for.

To mark the occasion, Xbox New Zealand has confirmed it is joining forces with the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards as a Gold sponsor.

Details of what Microsoft is doing to launch the Xbox One at the Awards will be unveiled over the coming days and at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards finalists’ announcement event (October 22).

“We’re rapt at being the first country in the world to launch the next generation of gaming consoles and we’re absolutely thrilled about hosting our launch event at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards,” says Steven Blackburn, Xbox Lead at Microsoft New Zealand.

“It’s a significant launch for us Kiwis and we’re going to make sure we welcome the new Xbox One console in style. We’re planning a few things in the lead-up to the awards and no doubt there’ll be a few surprises on the night, so watch this space,” says Blackburn.

The launch date for the Xbox One console was announced last week. It was also confirmed that FIFA 2014 would be bundled with all the limited Day One Edition consoles sold in New Zealand.
