Loveday and Karaka Rewarded With National Accelerant Squad Selection
Media Alert: 27 September 2013
National Selectors have announced the addition of two extra players to the National Accelerant Squad following the NZU21 Squad’s gold medal winning performance at the World Youth Netball Championships (WYNC) last month.
Mid-courter Nadia Loveday and defender Phoenix Karaka put in outstanding performances in each of the seven matches at the WYC in Scotland and have been rewarded with higher honours.
The NZU21 team defeated a highly touted Australian Under 21 team in the WYC final, winning the gold medal and bragging rights for the next four years.
Loveday and Karaka join NZU21 teammates Te Paea Selby-Rickit, Malia Paseka and Zoe Walker in the Accelerant Squad along with Jane Watson, Grace Rasmussen and Ellen Halpenny.
