All the World's a Stage

ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE

Four immensely talented spoken-word poets each have the opportunity to take their words to the other side of the world as a part of the super fresh mentorship program Page2Stage.

Sunday October 27 at 7:30pm  is the night that will showcase the combined efforts of each Page2Stage participant in a live show from the PumpHouse Theatre stage in Takapuna.

The baby of the Printable Reality collective, Page2Stage paired four up-and-comers with four established New Zealand Arts people for a series of live events and workshops where they developed their own unique attacks on the Spoken Word form.

Page2Stage Participants: Angela King, Nalini Singh, Jess Holly Bates, and Kashka Tunstall are each busting moves on six months of hard graft on the cutting edge of New Zealand performance art on Takapuna's PumpHouse Theatre stage Sunday October 27.

Needed is an audience of creative minds to help the judging panel pick a finalist to take their show all the way to LONDON in 2014 for a performance with the acclaimed spoken word organisation Apples & Snakes. They'll be getting there courtesy of a generous grant from the New Zealand Society, and will have the opportunity to perform in one of the world's most diverse and well-established spoken-word scenes.

With a very special performance by super-skilled electro-rapper GeeGee (https://soundcloud.com/geegeebeware), join judges Melissa Fergusson (Charlatan Clinic), Yee Yang 'Square' Lee (Short+Sweet Festival), and Serie Barford (Multimedia Poet) to break beats, make verse, say shit, do words, get left with your heart in your throat and your mind on the world's stage.

Keep in touch with details before the final night at Facebook.com/Page2Stage2013 and learn more about the mentors:Raewyn Alexander, Grae Burton, Lynn Cardy and Rosanna Raymond at our website.

Massive thanks to the Creative Communities Scheme, PumpHouse Theatre, Printable Reality, Poetry/Spoken Word Art NZ Trust, and The New Zealand Society.
