National Competition 15s Tournament - Finalists Found

Auckland, October 3, 2013 – It took a mighty effort by the Wai-Coa-Bay Colts to keep the Auckland RL Development side to only two tries, but in a show of determination and skill, it was the Colts who were the first team to beat the ARL side this tournament and secure a place in the 15s final tomorrow. Their fullback, Morgan Harper, put in a Man of the Match performance scoring a try in the first half and two in the second as well as kicking a conversion to turn around a 4-6 half time deficit to a full time winning score of 14 - 10.

The second major semi final was more of a one sided affair with the Akarana Falcons running hard and scoring quickly to lead 24-0 at half time. In the second half the Orcas dug deep and tackled their way back into the game, scoring two tries and a conversion to take it to 24-10. Unfortunately a long injury break saw both teams lose momentum and the Falcons recovered first, going on to win 34 - 4.
