No excuses for Hutt City Tri competitors this November

There’s every excuse under the sun not to enter the Hutt City Tri but none of them are worth anything.

“I’ll never win.” Probably not but we’ve got spot prizes galore so even the last over the line can still be a winner.

“I can’t swim.” Grab a mate who can and enter as a team or check out our new duathlon option.

“I’m so not the sporty type.” Most of our competitors aren’t. Just have a go – if you can’t run, walk. Enter a team and do one part of the tri or duathlon. Get practicing now so you’re good on the day.

With a month until the event, now is the time to sign up at www.huttcitytri.co.nz and get training.

“Creating a plan that focuses on regular exercise as well as rest and good nutrition is the key to success,” says Shailie Sanbrooks, Event Coordinator for Hutt City Tri.

She also recommends:
• Familiarise yourself with the course – there are route maps at www.huttcitytri.co.nz
• When you train for your swim, swim a little further then you need to because this will give you confidence at the end of the Tri when you’re most tired.
• The Hutt City Triathlon is unique in that the swim is at the end; swimming is often people’s weakest part so plan for that. When you have built up some fitness try and five to 10 minute walk followed by a short swim immediately after to get used to the transition.
• Remember, this is for fun so enjoy being part of a great event!

The Hutt City Tri is on Sunday 3 November 2013. Register online at www.huttcitytri.co.nz
