Ghost Wave USA Shows - Culture Collide and CMJ |

Ghost Wave USA Shows and Free Download
Having added percussionist Andy Frost to the line up, Auckland quintet Ghost Wave are off to America for the third time. Their political system may be at a standstill but the bands motorik rhythms will be sure to have audiences moving their feet.
In preparation for these dates, the band has made available for download, their cover of The Buckingham’s song, “Kind of a Drag.” The track can be downloaded HERE.
Auckland’s Ghost Wave released their acclaimed debut full-length in late August in New Zealand on Arch Hill Recordings and the USA on Flying Nun Records.
With support from various places like Pitchfork (who premiered the advance stream of the record), KUTX (who selected their track “Bootlegs” as their “Song of the Day”), KCRW (who picked them as an “Artist You Should Know”) and KEXP (who added the band to their rotation) the buzz has continued to grow.

He's what the press has been
saying about Ghost
Wave.
“Somewhere between garage rock and
the best sounds of ’60s British pop, Kiwi (by way of
Auckland) outfit Ghost Wave bangs out jangly tunes made for
good company.” – The Fader
“Led by
singer/guitarist Matthew Paul, the quartet writes songs for
a real summer’s summer, one of those idyllic ones you see
in faded photos from the 60s with surfboards and oversized
sunglasses.” – Pitchfork
“These days it’s
no easy feat for a band to differentiate itself from the
slough of other guitar-pop bands. You need songs and Ghost
Wave has plenty.” – Paste
"Their debut
full-length is easy and assured, an irresistible first
listen that reveals newfound subtleties on repeat
plays." – eMusic
