New Central Otago trails on show at Sydney Bike Show

On the eve of the official openings of the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold Trails, the two newest Central Otago cycle and walking trails will be promoted at a Bike & Lifestyle Show across the Tasman.

Armed with Trail brochures hot of the press, Tourism Central Otago (TCO) General Manager Anne Pullar will be attending The Bike & Lifestyle Show Australia from 19-20 October at The Dome in the Sydney Olympic Park.

The show, which is timed to align with the Sydney Olympic Park Festival of Cycling, is projected to attract attendance of 14,000-plus cycling enthusiasts.

The consumer event, now in its third year, was created to appeal to the full spectrum of cycling enthusiasts showcasing the best and latest products and services the industry has to offer.

TCO will be part of a wider Tourism New Zealand presence at the Australian event. Ms Pullar will be interacting direct with consumers passionately describing the cycling opportunities Central Otago has to offer, in particular the exciting new trails opening on the 24 October.

“Tourism New Zealand research has shown that those participating in special interest activities, including cycling, spend more and stay longer on average than other visitors,” said Ms Pullar. “Being part of this opportunity to connect with a large market and deliver the message about our fantastic new trails first-hand is too good to pass up.”
