The Exponents, Stan Walker and Breaks Co-Op at Waipara Hills

Thursday 17th October, 2013.

PRESS RELEASE

The Exponents, Stan Walker and Breaks Co-Op to headline The Winery Tour at Waipara Hills, February 2014.

Waipara Hills are proud to once again host the annual Classic Hits Winery Tour on the 22nd February 2014.

The Winery Tour is a combination of three great things about our country, the wine, the music and the scenery.

Event co-promoter; Campbell Smith, proudly calls the event, “100% New Zealand”, and is looking forward to next year’s Tour, promising concertgoers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Smith drew mention to the fact that Waipara Hills had recently changed its name from The Mud House Winery and Café in a recent statement, “We might have had a name change from “The Mud House Winery and Café” to “Waipara Hills”, but nothing else will change: This venue is one of the best places to stage a show in New Zealand; it’s just stunning. Fine venue, fine wine, fine ambience, and fine Canterbury crowds,” he said.

The Exponents has reunited its four founding members; including frontman Jordan Luck, and has planned a special stage show comprising all their old hits.

“We are excited about putting on a really memorable show, with all the hits. We’re rehearsing now! Winery Tour fans can expect something really special,” says Luck.

Following his nationwide sell-out tour, Stan Walker is set to perform his new album, due for release later this month, and is sure to draw the younger crowd. Stan is looking forward to sharing the stage with New Zealand music royalty and believes the chosen concert venues are located in the most beautiful outdoor settings that Aotearoa has to offer. “I can’t wait for everyone to come down and have a bit of a dance and a sing-along with me. It’s gonna be mean”, Walker says.

Completing the line-up is Breaks Co-Op, winners of the 2005 Song of the Year at the New Zealand Music Awards with their song “The Otherside”. The concert is perfectly aligned with the release of the band’s first album in eight years, which is due to hit stores
January 2014.

"I’ve been recording the new Breaks Co-Op album in England and I cannot wait to get back to New Zealand and spend a long, hot February travelling to the most beautiful parts of the country and bringing our music to life on stage. I honestly can’t think of a better way to spend summer,” says lead singer, Andy Lovegrove.

Waipara Hills Cellar Door manager, Jenny Anderson, cites the event as a highlight on the annual calendar.
”It is with much excitement we are looking forward to hosting our eighth much loved Classic Hits Winery Tour, a concert tour unparalleled in the Canterbury region for its ambience in our stunning vineyard setting,” she says.

Tickets go on sale Thursday 24th October at an Early Bird price (until 30th November) of $65 plus booking fee and are available from www.waiparahills.co.nz / www.winerytour.co.nz or from Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.nz (0800 111 999).
One child under the age of 12 will be given free admittance when accompanied by one adult ticket holder.
Discovery Travel is once again taking buses to the event from Christchurch. Please contact them directly for tickets at www.discoverytravel.co.nz or phone 03 3578262.
