Messiah a 150yo Christmas tradition in Dunedin

City Choir Dunedin sings Handel’s Messiah at Town Hall Dunedin Centre on Tuesday, December 10 at 7.30pm.

Conductor David Burchell will lead the choir and the Southern Sinfonia from the harpsichord with soloists Jonathan Lemalu (bass), Lois Johnston (soprano), Amanda Cole (mezzo-soprano) and David Hamilton (tenor).

Messiah was the first concert performed in Dunedin by City Choir’s predecessor almost exactly 150 years ago. Since then, the choir has performed the work almost 120 times.

Tickets are available from TicketDirect (booking fee applies), from $35.
