Let’s celebrate volunteers on International Volunteer Day Volunteering New Zealand
(VNZ) encourages organisations to celebrate International Volunteer (IV) Day on Thursday 5 December.
“Tumeke Koutou Maa!” which translates to “Thanks to Aotearoa’s Volunteers” has been the inspiration for IV Day this year.
Vanisa Dhiru, Chief Executive of VNZ says, “Volunteers are a vital part of our society, their work is so valuable. It is important we acknowledge people that give their time and dedication to worthy causes and volunteer organisations.”
VNZ has provided design and briefing documents for organisations to utilise for IV Day. This includes a free downloadable Facebook banner, logo, certificate and poster. These resources can be found on VNZ’s website, www.volunteeringnz.org.nz.
“This celebration held annually and a chance for the work the work of volunteer organisations and individual volunteers and the impact it has on a local, national and international level,” says Vanisa.
“It offers the chance for volunteer’s contributions to society to be made visible”.
