Laneway Celebrates Lorde Grammy Nominations with Extra Show

St Jerome’s Laneway Festival Celebrates Lorde’s Grammy Nominations with Extra Show in Silo Park

New Zealand artist and breakout international star Lorde has been nominated for four awards at the 56th annual Grammy Awards ceremony. After performing 'Royals' at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre on Saturday, Lorde was nominated for Record of the Year (Pure Heroine), Song of the Year (Royals), Best Pop Vocal Album (Pure Heroine) and Best Pop Solo Performance (Royals.)

Lorde will be attending the Grammy Awards ceremony on 26th January 2014 in Los Angeles. She was scheduled to perform at the 2014 Laneway Auckland festival on Monday, 27th January 2013, however due to the tight timeframe between events she is unable to make it back in time.

In lieu of her performance at the festival, Laneway Festival promoters are thrilled to announce a very special standalone Lorde performance at the festival site at Silo Park on Wednesday, 29th January 2014 to accommodate her schedule and her New Zealand fans.

Lorde will be playing all Laneway Festival shows in Australia.

The event will be free of charge to all festival-goers who already have a ticket to the 2014 Laneway Auckland Festival or who purchase one before 5pm on Wednesday, 8th January 2014.

While the Laneway Festival is an over-18 event, the newly-scheduled Lorde show will be All-Ages to accommodate all fans. Tickets to the Lorde show will go on-sale on 12pm on Thursday, 9th January 2014.

The special Laneway Festival presents Lorde make-up show and hometown appearance will be her only summer performance. It has been made possible by Lorde and her team working with Laneway Festival, Waterfront Auckland and the Auckland Council.
