Want an exhibition at Thistle Hall Gallery?

Want an exhibition at Thistle Hall Gallery?

Hi potential Thistle Hall exhibitors,

As you may know gallery submissions have been on a month to month basis while we await a schedule from Wellington City Council for the necessary earthquake strengthening of Thistle Hall.

A provisional time-frame is now available which indicates the work might start in mid February 2014.

So we have the following short notice dates available for January and February 2014:

The dates available are:
• 20 - 26 January
• 27 January - 2 February
• 3 - 9 February

To register your interest in one of these slots, you need to:
• Download and print out a copy of the application for gallery space fromhttp://www.thistlehall.org.nz/rates-gallery.html
• Fill out this form and get it to me by Monday 6 January (I will accept the application form by post or email)
• Include images of the work intended for exhibition or examples of your past work
• Specify your first and second choice in dates.

Myself and members of the Board of Trustees will consider applications.

In selecting exhibitions for each month, the Board will strive to combine a mix of media, content, group and individual shows, cultures (in the broadest sense of the word), experienced and new exhibitors etc, based on the exhibition applications that are received. If there are a number of exhibition proposals at one time, that seem similar in many of the above ways, these applications will be placed in a hat and one will be randomly selected.

Three applications will be selected to fill the dates available and those selected will be contacted on Wednesday 8 January.

Once you accept, you must make a bank deposit for the bond or get a cheque or to me by Monday 13 January to confirm your booking, or the slot may be offered to someone else.

Exhibitions are 7 days and run Monday – Sunday inclusive.

The hire fee is $160 + 10% commission.

As the hirer you are responsible for all aspects of your show, please see the hire agreement for details.

You may only have one show in any 12 month period.

Once you have supplied your bond and contract, these shows are confirmed. If you cancel without good reason, it is not likely you will get another show easily. You will incur a $100 penalty if you cancel your booking within 28 days of your hire period. Please see the hire agreement for all your responsibilities and liabilities as a hirer.

See gallery hire agreement http://www.thistlehall.org.nz/rates-gallery.html
