Slice Of Swedish Summer Set For Auckland’s Waterfront
Slice Of Swedish Summer Set For Auckland’s
Waterfront
Rekorderlig is set to bring a taste of the Scandinavian summer to Auckland’s social scene this March with a pop-up retreat from the summer heat - the Rekorderlig Swedish Summerhouse.
Nestled on
rolling green lawn on Wynyard Quarter’s Daldy Street, the
Summerhouse provides guests with the unique opportunity to
enjoy a taste of Swedish culture, in a space designed to
emulate the traditional Swedish summer sanctuary of their
red and white clad Stugas, or holiday homes.
“The Swedish Summerhouse is inspired by the same
beautifully Swedish ethos as Winter Lights. This time
however, we are celebrating a totally different season with
the premium aesthetic and leisurely ambience that
encapsulates a Swedish summer holiday,” says Rekorderlig
Brand Manager Emma Rock.
“Every aspect from the
furniture, the art on the house walls, the food, drinks,
games and Summer solstice floral head wreaths, have all been
cleverly crafted to deliver an experience that imitates the
best of Swedish culture,” she says.
Key to a fully
immersive experience is the provision of Swedish fare and
the Summerhouse will not disappoint. A bespoke Swedish
inspired menu has been designed that highlights some of
Sweden’s most popular summer dishes including,
Stromming or Pickled Herring, Gravad Lax or
cured salmon, Gruyere Fondue and Korv Med
Brod, gourmet style sausages in rye buns. Sweden’s
most popular exported beverage, Rekorderlig, will also be
served in a variety of pouring styles, including specially
designed cocktails and jugs for sharing. New variants
Raspberry-Lime and Elderflower-Lime will also be available
for tasting.
The Summerhouse will provide a feast for
all senses as guests relax into the summery sounds of
popular DJ acts, each with their own Swedish influence. The
hauntingly romantic works of Swedish photographer Agnes Thor
will be exhibited amongst classically white-washed décor,
punctuated by splashes of fruit-inspired colour.
The
Rekorderlig Summerhouse will be gracing our shores for just
two weeks; open Thursday through Sunday 3.00pm – 10.00pm
from March 6th. The days of a Swedish summer may be long but
the season is short.
The Summerhouse builds on the
success of last year’s Rekorderlig Winter Lights and
promises to deliver an even more immersive seasonal
experience
