Team Training Works on Many Levels for Manukau Women

Team Training Works on Many Levels for Manukau Women

How many women do you know that have joined a gym, only to fall off the wagon soon after? They’ll say that they went for a while but got too busy or nobody showed them what to do, they didn’t get any results so they lost interest.

“In this day and age everyone knows they need to get fitter and healthier, but a lot of people don’t know how to go about it”, says Claire Dobson, owner of True Women’s Fitness and Well-Being in Manukau. “Traditionally, if you wanted extra help or motivation you had to pay for a personal trainer, which unfortunately came with a price tag that was out of reach for many people”.

At True Women’s Fitness and Well-Being they wanted to find a way to bring the effectiveness and results you gain from working with a personal trainer to the majority of people. So, last year they launched Tribe Team Training.

“In each session of Tribe you are working out with your trainer and your team. You get individual support and motivation, but the cost is a lot lower than personal training,” says Claire.

True is offering 3 Tribe programs. TribeLIFE focusses on overall conditioning, fitness and weight loss. TribeFIT is a high intensity program, that works on speed, strength and fitness. TribeCore works on toning your belly, butt, back and shoulders. Tribe programs are either 2 or 3 one hour session per week for 6 weeks.

“A lot of our members are working mums and are really time poor!” says Claire, “Tribe Team Training allows them to get the best possible workout in the time they have available”.

“It’s a really good hard workout and the time goes by fast …….. I feel more conditioned (not so flabby!) and have started to get some tone in my arms”, said Sue Matkin (talking about TribeLIFE)

Annie Tupaea, who is a member of True and has consistently participated in TribeFIT said, “Being fitter and stronger was my goal but also to lose weight. I continue season after season as it provides discipline for me, when I am booked for something I will always show up. Unexpected benefits were the camaraderie with fellow Tribe members, it doesn’t matter which group you are in, the bond and pact you form with your fellow Tribe members is everlasting”.

“Another major problem we see with new exercisers in the gym is that they don’t know how hard they should be working out. One of the great advantages of the Tribe programs is that the trainer is there in every session, hands on, checking technique, motivating and coaching participants to reach their fullest potential”, continues Claire.

“I have learnt that I can actually push myself a lot harder physically than I ever believed I could. I would never have tried to do this type of exercise on my own. I now realise I need to push myself harder and try different things. I feel stronger and more conditioned”, says participant Sandra Finestone (talking about TribeLIFE).

For anyone that wants to give Tribe Team Training a go; the next FREE trial week starts on the 3rd of March.

The 6 week season starts on the 10th of March and is open to both members and non-members.
