Christchurch Man Sells Last Name

Christchurch Man Sell’s His Last Name

Trademe is no stranger to unconventional sales, but this one might just be a first. Arguably the greatest radio announcer of all time, 105.7 Pulzar FM's Snap, host of the Drive Home with Snap, is selling off the rights to his last name.

Snap will retain his first name, however will be changing his middle name to 'presented by' and becoming known as Snap presented by 'your brand’. This will be the case on all legal documentation and will be recognised on all projects Snap is currently involved with as well as any new projects undertaken for the next 5 years, at which point Snap will have the option of changing his name to anything he sees fit.

Snap, a self appointed Party Ambassador and self proclaimed local sex icon, was quoted earlier this week as saying “This is stupid, seriously I’m an idiot”, he went on to say “The stupidest part about this for me is that there is genuinely thousands of dollars of marketing value in this and there shouldn’t be, because this is a ridiculous idea”.

The auction has gained interest from businesses and friends a like, with the bids leaping to over $200 in it’s first hour. “I’m terrified that one of my mates is going to spend a crazy some of money making my life a dick joke” Snap stated, “I’d rather it be a business and they actually get some benefit from it…. and I don’t have to be named after the male anatomy”.

The auction will run until Sunday 10:00pm at which point Snap will know his fate. The winner will have some time to decide what they want, with the name change taking place within two weeks of the payment being made.
