Celebrating Women, Music and Poetry

Celebrating Women, Music and Poetry

The Auckland Women’s Centre is hosting ‘Blossom and Hum’, a gig celebrating women in music and poetry on Sunday 23 November at The Portland Public House in Kingsland.

The fabulous female lineup includes local singers Kate Martin, singing original acoustic pieces with a quirky twist and Hellen Robinson of the Soul Samba Circus.

The event also features The L & P Project, with their own unique brand of acoustic folk-pop, with duo Ellie Lim and Jodi Pringle. Ellie says; “I have a commitment to seeing more women on the stage, being brave, being vocal.”

Empowering poetry will also be part of the performance, with Tania Brady taking the stage.

Blossom and Hum is a space where women can express themselves creatively, in a mellow, relaxing atmosphere perfect for a Sunday evening in the summer’s sun.

The gig has been organised in collaboration with the Portland Public House to support the work of the Auckland Women’s Centre, with all proceeds going towards the continuation of its vital work in the Auckland community.

Tickets: $15 presale tickets, available from the Women's Bookshop, 105 Ponsonby Road (cash only) or the Auckland Women's Centre, phone:376 3227 x 0
