ALEXANDER WILDWOOD South Of No North

ALEXANDER WILDWOOD South Of No North

Release date: Friday 21 November 2014

It’s been a busy year for Alexander Wildwood, the musician from Tauranga. For a relatively unknown artist, Wildwood’s music's is already making big waves - having been chosen to support Australia's Boy & Bear on their sold out New Zealand tour in September and then opening for the beloved British band Elbow’s two sold out shows in Auckland this November. The first single Bad Blood from Alexander’s debut EP received NZ on Air Making Track grant. US blog All Things Go says Wildwood is “the start of something special” and “recalls current greats like Bombay Bicycle Club and The Neighbourhood”. Bad Blood also featured in the Top 100 Unearthed Charts on Australia’s nationwide radio network triple J.

“the anthemic foot-stomper “Bad Blood” that will send you into a toe-tapping, hand-clapping fury once that chorus kicks in.” – earbuddy.net

The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer (PleasePlease, The Heart of Katherine) produces and records his own music from his home studio on New Zealand’s picturesque East Coast, the result is an organic hybrid of indie-rock/folk with a polished pop sensibility. South Of No North was mixed by Nic Manders and mastered by Andy Vandette (David Bowie, The Beastie Boys, Metric).

“After writing for this release for the last two years I'm so excited to finally have something to share with people. It's been incredible seeing the response from people at the shows I've played & such a privilege to play with bands like Boy & Bear and Elbow leading up to the release of the South of No North EP. I hope people love it as much as I've loved making it.” - Alexander Wildwood
