Christmas in The Hutt is this Saturday 6 December

Christmas in The Hutt is this Saturday 6 December

This Saturday grab your picnic rug and join 20,000 others at Hutt Recreation Ground for the largest Christmas concert in the Wellington Region. Entry is free but collectors will be on hand taking donations for Hutt City Kindergartens.

The gates at Hutt Recreation Grounds open at 4.30pm. The community showcase will begin on stage at 6pm, the main carols event at 7.30pm and then Santa and the fireworks finale will be at 9.30pm.

The Breeze is the ringmasters on stage with Stu and Katrina taking the first half, then Steve andCath wrapping up. They’ll be directing performances from schools, dance groups, choirs, cultural groups and bands.

On the ground we’ve got entertainment for the kids and great food stalls too selling the likes of dumplings, donuts, ice-cream, crepes, gourmet burgers, sliders, coffee, pizza and potatoes on a stick.

Santa will arrive (whether you’re naughty or nice) before our show-stopping fireworks display at9.30pm.

Christmas in the Hutt, which is the Wellington region’s biggest Christmas concert runs rain or shine. However, in the event of extreme weather, a cancellation will be announced on www.christmasinthehutt.org.nz and on our Facebook page as well as on The Breeze.

The event is a fun family show and while people are encouraged to bring their own food and drink, a liquor ban will be in place. The event is alcohol, drug and smoke free.

People can also park on the streets surrounded Hutt Recreation Grounds but will need to adhere to parking restrictions and park with consideration of the residents who live there. Riverbank car park and the Fountain car park on Laings Road will also be open and are a short walk from the venue.
