Christchurch Pops Choir announces Christchurch Airport as Principal Sponsor
The high-flyer of the local music scene, the Christchurch Pops Choir, is excited to announce the Christchurch Airport has become its principal sponsor.
The 70-strong choir has performed regularly at significant corporate, community, civic and private events in the city since its formation in June 2011.
The partnership with Christchurch Airport brings together two dynamic entities that are passionate advocates of our city.
“The Christchurch Pops Choir is a community of entertainers who love getting out and performing. What we love about our new Principal Sponsor is that the airport team is also in the business of giving people the best experience it can,” Choir Artistic Director Luke Di Somma says.
Christchurch Airport’s General Manager, Trade Development and Marketing, Scott Callaway says there is obvious synergy between the airport and the choir.
“We both love our place in the world and want to share it with our community, as well as making every interaction the very best it can be - with a touch of fun and excitement. The Christchurch Pops Choir has a positive personality, as well as marvellous musicality, so together we plan to spread some joy for the city’s residents and visitors,” he says.
The Christchurch Pops Choir will make regular appearances at the Christchurch Airport over the next three years and the airport’s support will help the choir with its programme of civic and community gigs.
The choir’s repertoire ranges from Motown to Madonna and Gershwin to Gaga. Performances have been as varied as its repertoire, with numerous corporate and charity gigs, as well as performing with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra at the Horncastle Arena and flashmob appearances around the city for the Christchurch Arts Festival.
