Nostalgia Festival in Christchurch - headline act The Bats

Boutique music and food festival ‘Nostalgia’ returns to Christchurch with headline act The Bats

Independent music and food festival Nostalgia returns to Christchurch for its second year on 7 March 2015 with headline act The Bats.

In its second year, Nostalgia is the hot ticket for summer and offers the opportunity to discover some of Christchurch’s best creative and culinary initiatives. Along with some of New Zealand's finest indie musicians, the daylong boutique festival will also feature pop up cuisine and unique food experiences from a selection of Christchurch’s best food scenesters, as well as a Cassels and Sons craft beer bar, wine bars, cocktails on a jetty (The Punch Club), market stalls and art, all within the 1990’s replica township of the Ferrymead Heritage Park.

Formed in 1982, The Bats, a Flying Nun favourite, still retains the same four members who have produced eight albums in 32 years, and are currently working on their ninth album.

The Bats will be joined by Auckland ten piece, Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes, a swing rhythm and blues act who are back for another Nostalgia Festival. Also on the bill this year, Fabulous Arabia. Fabulous Arabia is a collaborative project between Lawrence Arabia and Mike Fabulous (Black Seeds). They’ll be taking to the stage with their band for a set of harmony laden soul and funk for their long overdue Garden City debut.

Festival director Johnny Gibson says: “It’s a real privilege to have such a high quality selection of musicians to continue the Nostalgia Festival in 2015, and there are still two more acts to be announced in the new year.”

When: 12.30-7pm, Saturday 7 March 2015
