OLYMPIC SHOW JUMPING MAGIC IN MATAKANA
This 31st January two local riders will be bringing show jumping magic to Matakana. Olympic riders Katie Laurie (nee McVean) and Daniel Meech will be among other Grand Prix superstar riders vying for the top prize in the $3000 Annard Horse Grand Prix Class. The Harrison Lane Matakana Magic event is being organised by Jaime Campbell and Travis Morgan. A charity auction will be held for the local Puriri Trust Foundation.
Jaime Campbell said “ We are excited to be able to the show to the Matakana Country Park. The presence of the Olympic riders will add an international caliber to the show.”
The day will start at 10am with smaller rounds for local riders and professionals with young horses and the day will climax with the charity auction at around 3pm followed by the exciting Grand Prix class. This will be an event not to be missed.
Over recent years the organizers have set out to lift the standard of local shows to a more professional standard reminiscent of what is available in Europe and to increase public participation in this world class sport. At their last show in Albany Katie Laurie (pictured) quoted “Very happy we came to Jaime’s show - looks awesome, feels like the shows we went to in Holland!”
Corporate tables are still available and these come supplied with platters and beer and wine package.
Contributions for the charity auction to be held for the Puriri Trust Foundation, which helps underprivileged children, are also being sourced.
