Welly through My Eyes Maria Bozina is multifaceted artist and graphics designer. She spent her childhood in Siberia, Russia, studying at Biysk Fine Art School. Working in Russia she applied her artistic skills mainly in advertising and graphic design. Emigration to New Zealand strongly influenced her work. She got a great interest to surreal art while studying at WelTec. Also, she is children book illustrator. Her latest graduation project in WelTec was dedicated to Wellington. Maria has created 12 illustrations which demonstrate her attitude to everything unusual from the standpoint of emigrants in New Zealand. She designed these illustrations as a calendar called “Welly through My Eyes”, which will be presented at the upcoming exhibition along with original illustrations.

ARTISTS
The Aotearoa NZL 200 exhibition
acknowledges the threads our society weaves together to
construct a view of ourselves - Maori as tangata whenua,
engagements with others via globalisation and it's
standardisation, and the 200km the Whanganui-based Optiv101
Studio Artists have come to present their works -
referencing the local dialects for large and heartfelt ideas
that our history and relationships have shaped us as a
nation.
