Lunch with the Legends of Cricket Series at Matua Britomart Cricket Club

– The Britomart Country Club is becoming
the Matua Britomart Cricket Club (MBCC) and will host living
legends of cricket such as Sir Richard Hadlee, Alan Border
and Sir Ian Botham.
The Matua Britomart Cricket Club will be hosting three exclusive events limited to 250 public sales and emceed by comedian, cricket fanatic, and star of 7 Days, Ben Hurley.
Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster to get up close and personal with some of the greatest cricketers to grace the game.
As the official wine partner of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Matua is getting under-arm, sorry, underway with its transformation of the MBCC and will officially open as the Matua Britomart Cricket Club on 14 February for the opening games.
On Friday, 27 February, one day before the New Zealand v Australia showdown at Eden Park, Kiwi icon Sir Richard Hadlee, past Australian captain and batting machine Allan Border, and arguably the greatest, and possibly angriest, bowler of all time Jeff ‘Thommo’ Thompson will share stories on their illustrious cricket careers.
Along with Ben they’ll discuss how they think the game is changing and all things ICC Cricket World Cup in an insightful, hilarious, and reflective question and answer.
On Friday, 13 March, past Indian captain Sunil Gaviskar will serve as appetiser for the India v Zimbabwe match at Eden Park the following day.
Sunil was the first cricketer to reach 10,000 runs and 30 test centuries. He was in a class of his own and dominated bowlers through the 1970s and 80s.
On Monday, 23 March, the day before the Eden Park Semi-Final, the King of cricket Sir Ian Botham will sit on the Matua Britomart Cricket Club Royal Throne and impart his endless words of wisdom, wit and opinion on the greatest game in the world.
Sir Ian tells it how it is and that’s exactly how we want it. His attendance is a rare chance to rub shoulders with the royalty of cricket that is Sir Ian Botham.
As an intimate affair, all attendees will have the chance to meet, shake hands, have a yarn or take a photo with these cricket legends.
All functions commence at midday and conclude 2.30pm. Tickets include canapé tray service, Matua wine, beer, soft drinks, and juice.
Tickets can be purchased for $195 per person or $175 per person for groups of ten or more, tickets are strictly limited to 250 per event.
