Henika wins the first Making Tracks grant for 2015

2nd February 2015

Henika wins the first Making Tracks grant for 2015

It was an extra-long Wildcard Funding Chart for December and January on theaudience.co.nz, and now we can finally reveal that Henika has claimed the first Making Tracks grant for 2015 with her song “You Bring Me Down”. A few challengers like Emily Rice and Bakers Eddy came across the two month period, but it was Henika who remained consistent over the 62 days and comes away with a $10,000 recording and video grant from NZ On Air.

Henika says she is almost lost for words at winning the chart for December/January. “I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for this opportunity! I am so humbled to have so many people believe in what I'm making. Your support has given me the confidence and the means to really take things to the next level. Now it's my turn to step up to the plate and pay it back by creating the best work I can. Thank you, you have changed my life forever!”

Congratulations to Henika, the winner of theaudience.co.nz’s Wildcard Funding Chart for December/January, and the first recipient of a Making Tracks funding grant for 2015! Listen to the winning song “You Bring Me Down” here. We here at theaudience.co.nz are proud to be able to hand out the first Making Tracks grant of the year, ahead of the first full funding round coming up in February.

As always, another month on theaudience.co.nz means another funding grant to give away, and the February chart has already begun. Being February means of course that the voting period will be a few days shorter than usual, so now more than ever it’s important to keep voting, playing and sharing your favourite unreleased song every day of the month. If you want a chance to win yourself a $10,000 recording and video grant from NZ On Air, make sure you get your unreleased tune up now!
