New record by Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing/Lot Like Miaou

Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing/Lot Like Miaou

Released through Tendresse Records on February 20th 2015

A trans-hemisphere exercise in discomfort and unnerving soundscapes, New Zealand post-art-rock quartet Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing unite with Belgium duo Lot Like Miaou to present a six track split vinyl, to be released February 20th 2015through Tendressse Records (Belgium).

Combining synth, guitars, vocal tromp and programmed drums, Lot Like Miaou dabble in sounds that mutually the duo both enjoy – cold, damaged and reeking of malaise. Having released two previous albums on Bon Voyage (Australia) and Tendresse, the split is an introduction to their dissonant sound to New Zealand audiences.

Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing however should be no stranger to New Zealand audiences; the bastard children of The Birthday Party (a comparison that we are sure they are shortly beginning to loathe), their previous works Tangiwai and Eeling (the latter released through MUZAI Records) have been met with cult acclaim – bucking convention and releasing both albums as art books (nee: zines).

Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing and Lot Like Miaou’s split should not be a cautious listen. It should be revered in it’s beautifully grotesque glory.
