Nominations Open for Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards
New Zealanders are being asked to
nominate ‘outstanding’ leaders for the prestigious Blake
Leadership Awards.
The Blake Leader Awards celebrate six of New Zealand’s most promising and inspirational leaders aged between 25 and 44 years. Nominations are also open for The Blake Medal, the premium award for outstanding leadership achievement in New Zealand.
The winners will be chosen for their proven ability to demonstrate leadership, to build and inspire successful teams and for their integrity.
The selection panel, made up of nine of New Zealand’s most notable leaders, also looks for all round leadership outside nominees’ own organisations. The winners will show a strong commitment to making a difference in and for New Zealand.
After receiving a Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award the winners are welcomed into an unrivalled network. This includes many of New Zealand’s most exceptional business, sporting, arts and community focused people, to help them continue their journeys to becoming New Zealand’s next top leaders.
Last years Blake Leader Award winners were Therese Walsh, Dr. Sam Hazledine, Tim Alpe, Kathryn Wilson, Matt Watson and Sarah Robb O’Hagan . The Blake Medal for outstanding leadership achievement went to Sir Peter Jackson.
Sir Peter Blake Trust CEO Shelley Campbell, who herself won a Blake Leader Award in 2007 says “These awards celebrate New Zealanders whose quality of leadership has made them successful. They will be people who build great teams, proud spirit and have similar qualities to Sir Peter himself.”
“Winning one of these awards is a beginning. The winners are given the opportunity to step up and take a position of responsibility for our country, with access to an unparalleled network. Our alumni come from all walks of life and we ask people to nominate exceptional leaders in their communities.”
Nomination forms are available online now at http://www.sirpeterblaketrust.org and close on Friday 6 March.
The Governor-General, Lieutenant General Sir Jerry Mateparae, will announce the winners at the Blake Leadership Awards dinner on Friday 26 June 2015, held in Auckland.
