Bringing Improv to the Burbs

WIT’s Worldwide Wellington Tour

Bringing Improv to the Burbs

The Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT) is taking its show on the road! During Fringe Festival 2015, WIT is taking its unique brand of improvised theatre and comedy out of the central city, into suburbs and regions of Wellington, Kapiti and Wairarapa.

Between the 28th of February and 14th of March WIT will be performing in Khandallah, Porirua, Paraparaumu, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, and Martinborough.

“Many theatres in the Wellington region have not have had a great deal of exposure to improv in the past, and Fringe Festival is the ideal time to change that,” says Phil Anderson, WIT Creative Director.

WIT's show for the Fringe Festival is 'Micetro'; a raucous evening of spontaneity that mixes beloved improv games, charismatic humility, and audience suggestions to create a unique night of entertainment that will never be seen again. Catch a mix of Wellington’s best loved improvisors plus WIT’s newest recruits as they face off in this gladiatorial contest!

About Wellington Improv Troupe

WIT was formed in 2004, after an award winning show during the 2003 Wellington Fringe Festival. In 2008 WIT convened the first New Zealand Improv Festival, bringing together troupes from around New Zealand and beyond. Today WIT teaches and performs improv and is a beloved member of the national improv community.
