Johnston Associates South - Backing the Makos

Johnston Associates South - Backing the Makos

Johnston Associates South Chartered Accountants have formed part of the line up backing the Tasman Makos for success in 2015.

The Nelson and Marlborough based firm of Chartered Accountants have recently signed to become a brand sponsor of the Tasman Rugby Union.

Mr Ben Douglas, Director at Johnston Associates South, says, “It’s a great fit for us, we’re pretty keen on our rugby in the office, but more importantly we see a natural affinity between ourselves and the Makos.” He explains, “Our firm was founded within a year of the Makos first game; the Makos value their fans and supporters above all else, and we feel the same way about our clients. The Makos are known for valuing excellence in the sport of rugby throughout the region, and we feel the same way about fostering business excellence throughout Nelson and Marlborough, it’s what we do.”

Mr Les Edwards, Commercial & Marketing Manager at Tasman Rugby, reaffirms the harmonious similarity between the new brand sponsors and the Tasman Makos. “Both are challenger brands”, he says. “Tasman is a small provincial Union but we’re in great shape financially and on the field, finishing as the second best province in the country last season. There are similarities with Johnston Associates South as they’re in great shape too financially and growth-wise. Their support will help us go to that next level which is to be number one”.

Johnston Associates South Chartered Accountants logo will be positioned below the numbers, on the back of the Tasman Makos jersey from the start of the 2015 season.
