Jaime Bowen: Head Goes Bang

Media release: For immediate release

NOTORIOUS* PRESENTS
JAIME BOWEN
HEAD GOES BANG

A comedy about Jaime’s existential life crisis. With dick jokes.

The second instalment of an undefined series of hour long shows sees Jamie Bowenbacking up his 2014 hit show Heart Goes Boom, a finalist for the prestigious Fred Award alongside Rhys Darby and Trygve Wakenshaw.

“…Jamie is a naturally funny guy and the result are some of the best gags of the festival” -ruminator.co.nz

These aren’t jokes about aeroplane food, or how different men and women are, rather Jamie delivers thoughtful, insightful comedy. He probes humanity, looking at all of the nonsense thoughts we have, and, while striving to make sense of them, succeeds in making them bloody funny.

“…it’s a virtuoso bit of comedy, and I love it” - theatreview.org.nz

Jamie has been performing comedy around the world for over 15 years. The list of places is long: performing seasons at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and at prestigious venues the London Comedy Store and the Sydney Comedy Store. He has supported Rhys Darby on tours of New Zealand, the UK, and Australia, which included a sold out show at the Sydney Opera House.

And there is the TV of course. Performing and writing on shows such as Comedy Galas,AotearoHAs, Pulp Comedy, After Hours, 7Days, A Night at the Classic, WannaBen, andJono’s New Show, Jamie has proven he can do it all.

“A man exploding on stage in front of a live audience has never been funnier” -coupdemainmagazine.com

A show from Jamie Bowen is more than just a collection of jokes. It’s comedy with heart and head. You can expect a hilariously beautiful expression of humanity with a smattering of silliness and a sprinkling of something bloody amazing.
