Auckland International Cultural Festival is back

Showcasing Auckland’s diversity, Auckland International Cultural Festival is back for its 16th year!

The Auckland International Cultural Festival, a free annual event, returns to Mt Roskill’s War Memorial Park on Sunday 29 March. With more than 55 cultures represented, this event has something for everyone.

“Our International Cultural Festival is a celebration of Auckland’s growing diversity,” says Councillor Alf Filipaina, Chair of the Arts, Culture and Events Committee. “As well as being a fantastic day out, it’s a great opportunity to learn more about who we are as a region.”

The festival brings together live entertainment, food, sports, markets and more. Visitors can experience a world of culinary delights, with Argentinean empanadas, Ethiopian coffee and Japanese castella just some of the features on the festival menu.

Enjoy international music and dance performances, and discover the arts of Indonesia, France, Thailand and Africa in the festival’s four ‘cultural zones.’

Have a go at Gaelic football, kabaddi, softball or curling in the interactive sports zones, then sit back and enjoy the Cultural Football Festival tournament.

“Every year the atmosphere is spectacular,” says Councillor Filipaina. “It’s about showcasing culture through music, dance, and the most important for me, food. See you there."
