Tickets for TEDxQueenstown illumination event on sale this Thursday

Tickets for the highly-anticipated third TEDxQueenstown event go on sale at 8amtomorrow Thursday March 19 2015 at a cost of $119.

Only 300 tickets are available for the event which this year has the theme illumination.

Held at Queenstown’s Memorial Centre on Sunday April 19, 2015 tickets can be bought online at tedxqueenstown.com or www.eventfinder.co.nz/2015/tedxqueenstown/queenstown.

Organisers expect the event to sell out quickly and certainly within the first day. The lucky first 100 ticket holders have the option to add on a free networking function on theFriday night of the TEDxQueenstown weekend, adding to the event’s appeal.

Six highly-regarded speakers have already been announced for the event with more to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

TEDxQueenstown curator Trent Yeo said the event had evolved from previous years and promised to be “an exciting opportunity to mix and mingle with like-minded people from all over New Zealand”.

“Our overall concept has advanced to more than the TEDxQueenstown event on theSunday. We know we live in one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand – if not the world – and so we wanted to encourage people from all over the country to come and visit for the weekend and enjoy our region” said Mr. Yeo.

“We’ve incorporated a welcome function on the Friday night so people can start to meet other delegates before they come to the event on Sunday. Following in the success of other TEDx events we’ve pulled together a day of organised local activities so visitors and locals alike can hang out with each other before the main event.”

“From morning yoga to a walk up Queenstown Hill, a day trip to Milford Sound, jet boating and more, there’s something for everyone. It really makes it a great weekend away and we hope that many will come away feeling illuminated by our special town.”
