SST Congratulates Black Caps
“The Black Caps not only achieved an amazing victory tonight they set a magnificent example for youth the width and breadth of New Zealand.” SST Founder Garth McVicar
The Sensible Sentencing Trust was founded by Garth McVicar in 2001 as a response to his concern about the number of young people involved in New Zealand’s escalating and appalling rate of violent crime but McVicar says he is an eternal optimist, “After the Black Caps win over South Africa my enthusiasm for my country knows no-bounds.”
“They say a youth in sport stays out of Court and the Black Caps have given every youth in New Zealand something to aspire to.”
“The Black Caps have never made a World Cup final before but these guys are outstanding role models and have shown what a little discipline and personal responsibility combined with a big dose of patriotism and pride in our Nation can achieve.”
“They have shown immense determination, courage and fortitude to beat the odds and show us just what can be accomplished when we put our mind to it.”
“We at SST encourage every parent and young person to strive to emulate what the Black Caps have done in this World Cup series.”
“Don’t ever think the odds are too big and don’t ever say it can’t be done, just grit your teeth, take a deep breath, dig-in and just do it. The pay back will ultimately be worth it, New Zealand is a great little nation but with a team effort we can knock crime for a six and make it the safe country we all wish for.”
“SST salutes the Black Caps and wishes them well in the upcoming final.”
