Sprint Finish to the Line

MEDIA RELEASE

30 March 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sprint Finish to the Line

As always there was a last minute rush and a nail biting wait but the President of the Lions Club of Kapiti, Brian Daw is delighted with the number and quality of nominations received for this year's PAK’n SAVE Kapiti Sportsperson of the Year Awards, including a good response for the newly introduced Club of the Year award.

“There are some really strong, well run and successful clubs in the Kapiti District and we’re pleased to see them putting themselves forward for the "Club of the Year" Award. Some have put a lot of effort into their entry and commented that completing the paperwork proved to be a very worthwhile exercise for the club as it highlighted their internal systems and documents that they either did or didn’t have”.

"The Kapiti Lions are looking forward to another successful event in our 10th Anniversary year and to celebrate that we have taken the Awards to another level. One change we expect will be popular is changing from a light supper to a full buffet dinner" says Brian.

Finalists will be contacted by phone from the 13th of April and will be given a complimentary ticket to attend the Awards dinner at Southward Car Museum on Wednesday 13 May. “That week we will also be announcing the winner of the Air New Zealand Flight prize”.

“This event is an opportunity for everyone in the community to support the sportsmen and sportswomen of Kapiti - and all the backroom workers such as volunteers, coaches, officials and administrators. We are hoping for a large crowd to share this happy Kapiti occasion with us all".

Function tickets for the event will be available to purchase on-line at www.kapitispoy.org.nz from Monday 13 April.
