Give the gift of life this Mother’s Day

Give the gift of life this Mother’s Day

Give your mum, and mums around New Zealand, a potential life-saving gift – simply by taking part in the Jennian Homes Mother’s Day Fun Run/Walk. That’s because a portion of every entry fee goes towards the Heart Foundation New Zealand.

Heart disease is the single biggest killer of Kiwi women, claiming the lives of more than 50 women each week. That means this Mother’s Day, thousands of families will be without their mum for the first time.

So what better way to spend the day with your mum (or to remember her), than by taking part in this celebratory event?

There are 19 fun run/walks being held around New Zealand on May 10, 2015. For just $20 you can register yourself, or perhaps buy one for your mum, and for $30 ($15 each) you can do the event together.

“It is a great way for families to have some fun and be active with the ones they love, while spreading the very important message of heart health,” says Jennian Homes’ Business Development Manager Dave Wilson.

“Jennian Homes is committed to working with the Heart Foundation to help fund research, raise awareness and keep families together for longer. It’s great to see people of all ages and all fitness levels sharing a very important day in the calendar, having fun and achieving something for themselves.”

More than 5,000 people are expected to take part in the approximately 5km run/walk events, as part of the Heart Foundation’s month-long Go Red for Women campaign.

Go Red For Women is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of heart disease and helping Kiwi women learn to care for their hearts.
